Materials:
Small amount of worsted weight yarn (Brown)
Crochet hook, size F

Finishing Materials:
Tapestry needle
Magnet
Black bead (eye)
Glue
Spray starch (optional)
Rust proof pins

Finished Size: 6 3/4" L x 5" T
Gauge: Not important to over all size.

Head, Ear, Nose:
Rnd 1) Ch 4; 14 dc in 4th ch from hook; join with a slip st in 4th ch of beg ch 4: 15 dc.

Row 2) Ch 3, slip st in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, slip st in same st on head (ear), slip st in next 3 dc, ch 1, sc in next 2 dc, ch 2, sc in next dc (nose), slip st in next 3 dc. Do not fasten off

Body:
Row 3) Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 4 dc in next st; ch 3, turn work: 7 dc.

Row 4) 2 Dc in first st, dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in last st; ch 2, turn work: 9 dc.

Row 5) Dc in next 6 sts, dec over last 2 sts; ch 2, turn work: 7 dc.

Row 6) Dc in next 4 sts, dec over last 2 sts: 6 sts. Do not fasten off

Tail
Row 1) Ch 1, turn work, slip st in first st; Ch 20, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, (2 sc in next ch) twice, sc in next 7 ch, (dec over next 2 ch) twice, sc in next ch, slip st in next ch, slip st in last chain and in next dc on body of squirrel at the same time; ch 1, turn work.

Row 2) Slip st in next 2 sts on tail, (dec over next 2 sts) twice, (working in back loops) sc in next 6 sts, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 2 sc; ch 1, turn work.

Row 3) (Working in back loops); Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc, (Working in both loops) dec over next 2 sc, slip st in last st and through next st on body of squirrel at the same time; ch 1, turn work.

Row 4) Decrease over next 4 sts on tail, sc in back loops of next 15 sc to end, ch 1, work; (hdc, dc, trc, dc, hdc) over center end of tail, slip st in next st on edge of tail, (working back opposite side of tail toward the head), slip st in each st on tail and lower body portion of squirrel to end, ch 3, 2 dc in 3rd chain from hook, slip st to next row on body of squirrel (foot), evenly slip st in next row on body, ch 2, 2 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, slip st in next row of body (front foot). Fasten off, secure ends.

Finishing:
